The most famous landforms in Gettysburg are associated with the battlefield.
They are:
They are:
- Devil's Den
- The Wheatfield
- The Angle
- The Peach Orchard
- Little Round Top
Devil's Den was formed with Little Round Top ( to the north east ) and Big Round Top. The Civil War was fought in many places and Devil's Den was one of them.
The Wheatfield is one of the bloodiest areas of the battlefield. Also over 6,000 men where killed in the Wheatfield.
The Angle is not named after a person like most battles are in the Civil War. It was named after where two stone walls met and was the focus of Pickett's Charge.
The Peach Orchard is where a battle was fought. Also cannons were in the battle and the Union was able to knock the Southern Army 150 yards off the ground. Little Round Top is a little hill where the Union Army was able to hold off the Southern Army. Also even though there were more Southern troops since the Union was uphill they were able to defeat them.
